Our Story

The optometry practice that is now Drs. Reising and Burkhart was opened in 1948 by Dr. Donald Henry, O.D. It was first located on North 9th street and re-located to South 12th Street in 1970. In 1975, Dr. Greg Reising joined the practice and the office moved to its current location on East Main Street. Dr. Cy Burkhart joined the practice in 1979. Dr. Adam Reising joined the practice in 2003. In 2008, a major renovation took place, which doubled the size of the practice. A few years later, Dr. Greg Reising retired in 2010.

The practice specializes in medical eye problems and provides both glasses and contact lenses. We offer the latest technology in diagnostic eye care equipment including Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a new, noninvasive, noncontact, transpupilary imaging technology that can image retinal structures similiar to an MRI.

Our modern and state-of-the-art facility enables us to provide the newest in optical design by taking specialized measurements for a full range of Varilux lenses. Using the VisiOffice technology, we can deliver the most precise, individualized vision for your new glasses.
